Bizarre landscape I painted out of my head for my second project in my oil painting class. Took about 4 weeks start to finish, and I'm quite happy with it My teacher said it was the most "bizarre" painting he'd seen all year, lol. Nice. FYI, oil paint is a fucking hard medium >.< (but so fun~)
You know, you're kinda right XDD I do much prefer people/portraits, but it was my first painting class ever, so I figured I should try a little bit of everything. I actually painted an abstract too, but I forgot to take pictures of it before I gave it to my dad for Christmas, lol. That one might appear up here someday too, but I don't particularly like it, so... XD
Looks great! It's trees clinging on to the edges of cliffs like this that inspired the first Bonsai trees thousands of years ago, their stunted shapes created by extreme weather, feirce winds and falling rocks and because of this, they were actually once beleived to posess spiritual powers that would be inherited by the person that cultivated it
I have spent probably less than half an hour of my life trying Oils...and hated it

Why is delivering things by car called "shipment" while delivering things by ship called "cargo"?
Thank you for the comment I've always thought bonsai trees had this creepy, kind of tranquil beauty... <3 And yes, oils are a bitch... but so much more versatile than a lot of other mediums I've tried. I feel like I need to conquer them, hahaha
Thank you I really admire oil artists, seriously! It is such a hard medium-- I had no idea before I took the class I hope I can take another class in the future to really get into the nitty and gritty stuff, heehee~

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
