[Beware, poor camera quality --> shitty color, etc.] I'll try and upload a better quality one soon~
My first piece in my oil painting class! And also my first painting on canvas ever XD Took about 4 weeks start to finish.
I painted this for my mom, since she's been asking me for something to hang on her wall for like... years XD
You can kind of take whatever you want from this painting, but to me, she's like... a moon goddess... her hair is the night sky, and the stars are her tears (sort-of) .......
Thank you! You know, strangely, the hair was the quickest and easiest part of the painting for me XD I'm glad you like how it came out~ My teacher said I "overworked it" a bit too much... whatever~ *shrug*
Wow really? I can never make the strands of hair natural enough for it to look "realistic". I love it! It's beautiful and I'm very interested in Greek mythology XD.
Wow, I've never heard teachers say that. Usually they say the exact opposite.

Yeah, he says I'm too nit-picky and I should keep my paintings looking more natural and random, rather than polished and refined. But he's a modern art person, so meh >.<
Thank you so much~~ This was my first piece, and I didn't have any solid ideas when I started, I just sort of painted randomly... Then this concept just kind of flowed out of the brush with her hair, literally XD I'm so glad you like it
Thank you so much! Yeah, I was amazed at how accurate and perfect you can get shading to be with oil paints, only it takes many days to achieve because you have to wait for each layer to dry before you start blending more and making more of a gradient >.< /ramble

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
